BRO Talk: Silk Road Economic Belt – Hong Kong Co-operation and Multinational Supply Chain Management

The Belt and Road Office organised, and supported by Invest Hong Kong, its first BRO Talk of 2025 on January 15, bringing together over 150 members of the business community to explore opportunities along the Silk Road Economic Belt and Hong Kong’s role as a multinational supply chain management centre.

The Talk opened with remarks from Mr Nicholas Ho, Commissioner for Belt and Road, and Ms Alpha Lau, Director-General of Investment Promotion.

The first panel, which focused on opportunities along the Silk Road Economic Belt, featured Mr Almas Seitakynov, Consul General of Kazakhstan, and Mr Kerim Sercan Evcin, Consul General of Türkiye, alongside Mr Barry Chan, Managing Director, CICC and Ms Mei Mei Song, Chief Transformation Officer, Plaza Premium Group. The panelists shared their perspectives on strengthening regional ties, leveraging connectivity, and Hong Kong’s unique position to foster economic growth across the Belt and Road regions.

The second panel turned its attention to multinational supply chain management, with contributions from Ms Suki Cheung, President, Hong Kong E-Commerce Logistics Association (HKELA), Mr Andy Tsoi, Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Hutchison Ports, and Mr Bill Li, Director, Corporate Affairs, Lalamove. Discussions centered on innovative approaches to logistics, emphasizing Hong Kong’s critical role as a hub for enhancing supply chain efficiency and supporting sustainable growth in Belt and Road economies.
